"I have learned to flow.
Jodi did not teach me how to flow; rather, she guided and facilitated me in teaching myself.
About five years ago, when I first met and started to work with Jodi, I was fifty pounds overweight, suffering from constant tinnitus, under a great deal of work-related stress, too tired to exercise, and living with nagging pain in my shoulders and upper back. I was having massage therapy every two to three weeks, which provided short-term pain relief. I had come to believe that the source of my pain was entirely physical. I had my first session with Jodi when my regular therapist was unable to keep an appointment and I agreed to have Jodi fill in.
I continued working with Jodi and during one of our pre- or post-treatment conversations, she suggested—and I agreed to add some “energy” work to my sessions. Frankly, I had no idea what this meant or entailed. At first, and for some time afterward, I fidgeted. My fidgeting was physical, mental, and spiritual. I found myself eager for the 1 ½ hour sessions to end and I couldn’t see or feel any difference following the ordeal. Jodi would ask about my experience, such as what I thought while she shared what she discovered about me.
Eventually, I began to relax and at the same time to learn more about myself. During sessions, Jodi coached me to practice deep breathing and to let my thoughts and memories come and go as they would—good and bad—without holding, judging, or trying to control them. In doing so, I began growing in self-awareness and mindfulness while in therapy and during all my waking hours. I found that I could be simultaneously active and self-observing. Periods absent physical pain began to lengthen. I remember the first time that I recognized the onset of a sharp, stab-like pain in my upper back while working on income taxes. I stopped, began to breathe deeply and massaged the spot until the pain subsided. Jodi was genuinely pleased when I shared this experience. It seemed at this point that the rate of progress accelerated and when pain recurred, I always noticed it immediately, recognized that the trigger was stress, and I learned that I could take control and stop the pain almost instantaneously through meditation and self-massage.
From this point on, I began to improve nearly all areas of my life. I began to exercise regularly, ate smaller, healthier meals, lost weight, slept better and performed better at work. Simultaneously, work related responsibilities increased with more travel, more deadlines, more reports to write and edit, and more oral presentations to prepare and deliver. At the same time, the level of perceived stress diminished. As for the pain, I can’t remember the last time it recurred, two or more years ago. I don’t remember the last time I felt really stressed. I still have tinnitus; but most of the time it is in the background. When it becomes prominent, I know that the cause is fatigue.
During one of our post-therapy conversations, I expressed to Jodi that I now flow like a river, I don’t resist, I don’t fear, I am mindful of the present and aware of what is past and ahead. I do what I must; I don’t dwell on my past or my mistakes. I observe, learn and move forward. I know that I am not now and never will be perfect.
What I have come to learn, in an experiential way, is that the adage about life being a journey and not one or even a series of events is true. We don’t know what life will bring, but we can control our response to what comes. Five months ago I had a knee replaced; a procedure I suspected was inevitable. Because of the work Jodi did with me, I was well prepared to work through the preparation, have the surgery, and recovery in a very positive, proactive way. During my three month post-operative examination, my surgeon told me that I made this look easy.
Jodi, thank you for being one of my most trusted and influential advisors."

I was a bit "on the fence" about pursuing a Reiki experience, however, due to my reasons for wanting to have a session in the first place, I felt I had nothing to lose. So, I didn't know what to expect when I first met Jodi. I'm so glad that I was connected with Jodi, because she is amazing! She was, fortunately able to fit me into her schedule rather quickly, which I was grateful for. Upon first meeting her, she has a very calming, reassuring presence that put me at ease. She patiently took her time to establish a rapport with me, to understand why I was there, and how she could help. We went on to have our Reiki session, and I felt the effects immediately, and in the days to follow. At the end of our session, Jodi went on to take her time to help interpret what she found, and gave me specific therapies to use to continue to help me help myself to get to a better place. I went back to see Jodi for another session since then, and plan on continuing to have more sessions with her, because I sense a true connection with her skills and abilities as a healer. I'd like to make an important point, something I had to remind myself of when seeking out a Reiki practitioner...Don't get caught up in the aesthetics of the facility that the practitioner is in, or be distracted by whether, or not the facility has a lot of "bells and whistles", shiny objects, or seemingly, the right appearance. The therapy room where I visit Jodi is in a non-descript, office park, albeit a very pleasant facility, once inside, where Jodi shares space with a chiropractor, and massage therapist. The session room is much like you'd find at any private salon, or spa, and Jodi has made it quite nice with scent, candles, calming music, etc. The most important thing, and I suppose, should be obvious, is the practitioner themselves. Jodi is amazing, and I believe she has a true talent, or gift that I am grateful for!

I've had one session with Jodi and I already feel lighter and more pain free than I have in years. She is obviously very knowledgeable about her craft and I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
